Chief Technology Officer David McKenna, PhD, brings extensive experience in information systems and technology management to the Cannabis Control Commission. His background includes his previous roles as Vice President of Information Technology at Narragansett Bay Insurance Company in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, Vice President of Claims Finance and Technology at Selective Insurance in Branchville, New Jersey, independent consultancy work and participation speaking or presenting at numerous technology and big data conferences, including the New Jersey Workers’ Compensation Centennial Judicial Seminar. A veteran US Army Sergeant who served in the Iraq War in 2003, Dr. McKenna earned a PhD in Information Technology from Capella University, a Master of Science in IT Management from Brandeis University, and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems from Fitchburg State University. Dr. McKenna also holds a Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification from the Project Management Institute.
